This is the meaning of JOY for the Chinese Character.
All happiness, well-being and wisdom comes from within. It is not the fruit of something we do; it is the essence of who we are. All our attempts to find well-being from outside ourselves are doomed to fail simply because it is impossible to find what has never been lost. This confusion as to the source and location of well-being is innocent and understandable - almost everything in our culture encourages us to look outside ourselves, telling us "you'll be happy when you get what you want (or at least when you get whatwe tell you you should want". But reality is much kinder. As you connect with the good feelings which are always there inside you, they will effortlessly carry you all the way back to the source.--Michael Niell
What-is has no bearing on what is coming unless you are continually regurgitating the story of what is. By thinking and speaking more of how you really want your life to be, you allow what you are currently living to be the jumping-off place for so much more. But if you speak predominantly of what-is, then you still jump off —but you jump off into more of the same.

The standard of success in life isn't the things. It isn't the money or the stuff -- it is absolutely the amount of joy you feel.
--- Abraham, Esther and Jerry Hicks
I'm going to be happy. I'm going to skip. I'm going to be glad. I'm going to smile a lot. I'm going to be easy. I'm going to count my blessings. I'm going to look for reasons to feel good. I'm going to dig up positive things from the past. I'm going to look for positive things where I stand. I'm going to look for positive things in the future. It is my natural state to be a happy person. It's natural for me to love and to laugh. This is what is most natural for me. I am a happy person! --- Abraham, Esther and Jerry Hicks
